News - Dash announces exceptional release 2007B performance
NEW YORK and LONDON: Dash Optimization today announced that the latest edition of its high-performance optimization suite, Xpress-MP, has achieved dramatic results in the latest benchmarking tests. The new optimization engine is up to an order of magnitude faster on many models and more importantly, returns an exceptional 2 fold average speed increase across a wide ranging, multi-industry test set.
Dr Robert Ashford, technical director of Dash, commented: "I am particularly pleased by the sheer variety of models that these results encompass. It is one thing to effect an improvement on models from only a small number of application fields; it is much more challenging to raise performance levels across a more mixed set of hard industry models. I am excited by the leap forward in technology that release 2007B will represent".
Dash expects that Xpress-MP will prove faster than its competitors to optimality on a large number of models, while retaining its previous superiority in finding strong root solutions with its more advanced heuristic algorithms.
The Dash Optimization development team is committed to delivering the best out-of-the-box performance and they are continually working toward further algorithmic improvements. Development is already progressing for the 2008A release which will include a number of new solver technologies next year. Improvements are also scheduled for Mosel, the most advanced optimization modeling environment available today. The first release next year will also deploy a more mature and advanced version of multiple solution technology than that offered by any other vendor.
Only Dash Optimization, with its accelerated development cycle and superb quality assurance infrastructure, can continue to deliver robust implementations of the latest mathematical techniques at a rate that keeps pace with the ever increasing demands from industry for faster solve times on larger and more complex problems.
