News - Dash Optimization Announces Release of Xpress-MP 2007B

NEW YORK and LONDON: Dash Optimization today announced the release of Xpress-MP 2007B. Xpress-MP continues to provide state-of-the-art modeling and optimization tools to customers in a wide range of vertical industries.

Xpress-MP release 2007B includes a major revision to the Optimizer LP/MIP solver, the much awaited new product called the Xpress-Tuner and updates to many of the other Xpress-MP suite components.

The release notes document all of the new features in the 2007B version of the suite.

Xpress-Optimizer 18.10.00

The latest edition of the high-performance MILP solver achieves dramatic results in the latest benchmarking tests. The new optimization engine is up to an order of magnitude faster on many models and more importantly, returns a 2 times average speed increase against our broad industry-specific Performance Evaluation set of MIP models.

The Xpress-Optimizer now solves an additional 10% of models, in our larger QA test sets, within the imposed time limits compared to the previous release.

This release of the solver includes a number of new features and much improved functionality in many areas. The infeasibility tracing has been completely rewritten and is now much faster and can be used effectively on larger problems. An infeasibility repair utility has been added and is accessible from both the library and command line interfaces. A number of new heuristics and presolve operations have contributed to the excellent results highlighted above. For more information on these and other improvements please see the release notes.

Xpress-Tuner Beta 1.0.0

The Xpress-Tuner is a GUI based Windows application that will help end users find the best set of control parameters for their particular MIP problem (or set of problems) in order to get faster results than are provided by default control parameters. This new tool allows the non-expert Xpress-MP user to get the best performance out of the Xpress-Optimizer and the expert user to gain even more insight into their MIP problems.

The Xpress-Tuner is easy to use and always provides a concise winning strategy that can be readily implemented using the Xpress-Optimizer libraries, Xpress-Mosel or Xpress-BCL. At the same time it provides a wealth of information to users familiar with Xpress-MP control parameters, for deeper analysis of the problem behavior with respect to different solution approaches.
