Dash to Sponsor, Exhibit and Present at Tenth International Conference on Stochastic Programming

Dash is co-sponsoring, exhibiting at and participating in the Tenth International Conference on Stochastic Programming, to be held October 11-15, 2004 at the Student Union Memorial Center, University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. Horia Tipi will present "Building Stochastic Applications in Xpress-SP" which introduces Xpress-SP, the stochastic programming extension to the Mosel modeling language.

Presentation DateWednesday October 13, 2004

Abstract: Optimization under uncertainty is a challenging task. Real-world applications require a framework for rapid experimentation, prototyping and analysis in order to gauge the impact of uncertainty on the decision-making process. The purpose of this talk is to introduce Xpress-SP - an optimization tool for 2-stage and multi-stage mixed integer stochastic linear programs, and demonstrate its modeling, solving and visualization capabilities using examples from the energy sector and inventory optimization.
