News - Hartley McMaster Use Xpress-MP to Optimize Portfolios

LONDON and ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ: Hartley McMaster Ltd, a management consultancy specializing in bringing analytical skills to business problems, has selected Xpress-MP to power Portfolio Modeller, a new PC-based tool designed to help organizations decide how to deliver maximum benefit with constrained resources. The Portfolio Modeller is already being used by a number of organizations to find the optimum mix of projects within a strategic program.

"We chose Xpress-MP because it offers the power and flexibility we need when selecting an optimum program of projects from the potentially large number of possibilities available to an organization", said Stewart Williams, in charge of Portfolio Modeller development. "Combined with our multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) tools, the Portfolio Modeller allows us to offer unique ways to plan, prioritize and optimize complex programs of work".

"We have worked with Hartley McMaster on several projects using Xpress-MP and are delighted that they have now embedded it in their own software tool", said Alan Dormer, Director of Dash Optimization. "The blend of optimization with other techniques such as MCDA is an interesting development and should be of great value to many organizations".

Dash Optimization offers a comprehensive OEM package that has enabled Hartley McMaster to deliver state-of-the-art optimization capability to its customers. The package includes development software and components, flexible licensing and deployment, training, support and maintenance.
