News - Mosel Master Class
A Workshop on Advanced Modelling and Solving with Xpress-MP
Marseilles, France, 16-17 June, 2005
(Under the auspices of the EC Framework 6 ADONET Project)
This 2-day workshop, conducted by the Mosel developers, gives an introduction to new functionality in Xpress-Mosel and Xpress-Optimizer. It is particularly aimed at researchers and advanced users. The workshop will be preceded by a half-day crash course on Mosel for participants who are not familiar with this software or who only occasionally use Mosel and wish to refresh their knowledge.
Topics:
- Use of the Mosel debugger to ease model development and verification
- Model analysis with the profiler: quick detection of inefficiencies in model formulation and solution algorithms written with Mosel
- Parallelism at the modelling level: from simple parallel runs to decomposition approaches
- User packages and modules: writing extension libraries for the Mosel language to provide access to new solution algorithms or to interface with external software
- Overview of new developments in the Optimizer (parallel MIP, cuts, heuristics)
Speakers:
Oliver Bastert, Yves Colombani, Susanne Heipcke (Dash Optimization); Laurence Wolsey/Yves Pochet (CORE)
The workshop is designed as a hands-on training course; participants are expected to bring a laptop computer. The course software will be provided. The number of participants is limited to 20.
Deadline:
Deadline for registration is 20 April, 2005. Please indicate whether you wish to attend the crash course. Please book with Susanne Heipcke.
