Licensing

This procedure describes how to obtain the host ID of your computer, in order to request the following types of Xpress-MP license file:

1. Evaluation License
2. Any license for release 2007A or later
3. Type_1 "Personal" or Type_2 "Remote" (static) license for releases 2005A-2006B

A. Obtaining the host ID of your computer

Please carry this procedure out on each computer for which you wish to license Xpress-MP.

1. From the list below download the relevant program for your platform and save it to your computer.

2. Unzip the file ( winzip for Windows users, gunzip for unix users ).

3. Navigate to the directory where you saved xphostid.

4. Run xphostid. It will open a dialog window and display the required system information. Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the text into the email described below.

B. How to apply for a license files

1. New sales

Please specify:

Your details, including your purchase order number or reference
The information from xphostid for each host that you wish to license

2. Upgrading an existing license - adding new features or upgrading to a new major release of an existing license

Please specify:

Your details, including your purchase order number or reference if applicable
The information from xphostid for each host that you wish to license
Your existing host ID(s), dongle or ethernet
Your ASSC support number

3. Academic partner program (APP) licenses

Please specify:

Your details, including your university and department
The information from xphostid for each host that you wish to license. You are permitted up to 10 fixed PC licenses or a 10 concurrent-user floating/server license, and all licenses must be applied for at the same time
